{"id":9461,"date":"2014-10-03T09:05:18","date_gmt":"2014-10-03T14:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trades.iwopremium.com\/forums\/topic\/retracement-short-in-spx\/"},"modified":"2017-11-22T16:00:01","modified_gmt":"2017-11-22T20:00:01","slug":"retracement-short-in-spx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trades.iwopremium.com\/retracement-short-in-spx\/","title":{"rendered":"[CLOSED] &#8211; Retracement Short in SPX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nice bounce off the lows, and we&#8217;re seeing a hard rally into key resistance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/trades.investingwithoptions.com\/files\/2014\/10\/spx.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2720\" src=\"http:\/\/trades.investingwithoptions.com\/files\/2014\/10\/spx.png\" alt=\"spx\" width=\"800\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think we will see some sloppy action in the indexes as we see profit takers come in soon.<\/p>\n<p>My thesis here is that we won&#8217;t break to new all time highs by the end of October.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the trade:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/trades.investingwithoptions.com\/files\/2014\/10\/spx-risk.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2721\" src=\"http:\/\/trades.investingwithoptions.com\/files\/2014\/10\/spx-risk.png\" alt=\"spx-risk\" width=\"791\" height=\"397\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sell to open SPX Oct5 2020\/2030 bear call spreads for 1.60 HALF SIZE (you can get filled at 1.70 right now)<\/p>\n<p>ORDER to close at 0.80 with intent to resell<\/p>\n<p>ADD to the trade if the spread hits 3.00<\/p>\n<p>If filled, ORDER to close at 1.90<\/p>\n<p>EXIT the trade for a LOSS if we close at new all time highs.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Update: October 7th, 2014<\/p>\n<p>BIDDING TO CLOSE SPX Oct5 2020\/2030 call spread for 0.80<\/p>\n<p>With the selling I think I can get filled into the close.<\/p>\n<p>This means I can capture 50% of the profit after holding for 4 days.<\/p>\n<p>IF I get filled, I will be ready to RESELL this spread at about 1.80.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Margin and P\/L<\/p>\n<p>Margin: 340<\/p>\n<p>Profits: .80<\/p>\n<p>Return on Risk: 23.4%<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nice bounce off the lows, and we&#8217;re seeing a hard rally into key resistance.
